The Accommodation Guide, launched in 2008, has been developed over the last few years by Drive South Africa, an industry leader in vehicle hire and African safaris trips throughout Southern Africa.
In its early days, Drive South Africa, focused primarily on car rental, 4x4 rental and camper rental. Since their inception in 2002, they’ve helped many clients plan their road-trips around Africa – frequently assisting them with reservations for hotels, lodges and guest-houses in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and further a-field.

The Accommodation Guide is the result of Drive South Africa's experience in assisting their self-drive clients find great places to stay - whether it’s a hotel, lodge, guest-house, back-packers or even a camp-site.
This website lists and summarises all of the truly unique - and value for money - hotels, lodges and guest-houses that they’ve discovered to date.
